The OUTMemorial fundraising campaigncelebrates LGBTQ+ service members, and The OUT Foundation and the Modern Military Association of America have created their own Hero WODs to share on social media through Memorial Day. Check them out and learn more about the service members they are dedicated to at www.instagram.com/OUTWOD.
Those donating $20 or more to the OUTMemorial fundraising campaign will receive a limited edition patch that says “WE HONOR ALL” to add to their gear or wear proudly however they wish.
“While it is our mission to always create welcoming spaces for LGBTQ+ individuals in health and fitness, without the sacrifices of our veterans, our freedom to live openly and honestly would not be possible,” said Will Lanier, Executive Director of The OUT Foundation. “That it is why it is so important for us to partner with the Modern Military Association of America to do everything we can to support LGBTQ+ people, both in and out of uniform.”
All donations received will be split evenly to support the work of The OUT Foundation and the Modern Military Association of America, both registered 501(c)3 non-profit organizations.
“While we’ve made tremendous progress towards full equality for our LGBTQ military and veteran community over the years, much of that progress is now being threatened and rolled back,” said Modern Military Association of America Executive Director Andy Blevins. “We are nowhere close to a military that lives up to America’s promise of equality for all. We are proud to work alongside The OUT Foundation to honor and serve our modern military and veteran community, while raising awareness to the unique issues that we still face.”
Donations to the OUTMemorial fundraising campaign
must be made by Wednesday, May 22nd to ensure those donating $20 or more receive their limited edition patches in time for Memorial Day.
